SAVE FOOD exhibition

Until mid-May packaging specialists MULTIVAC will be presenting the SAVE FOOD Initiative’s Exhibition on the problem of global food waste. This pays off for the company in two ways: It illustrates MULTIVAC’s corporate social responsibility efforts, on the one hand, and offers customers and guests an attractive information area, on the other.

Based in the Bavarian town of Wolfertschwenden, packaging specialists MULTIVAC are currently presenting an exhibition by the SAVE FOOD initiative on the global issue of food waste. The exhibition has been running since mid-February 2012. The message that MULTIVAC seeks to convey is very clear: “The worldwide waste of food is one of the most pressing problems of our time. The packaging industry can make a valuable contribution to a reduction of this waste,” says Christian Trautmann, CFO at MULTIVAC Sepp Haggenmüller GmbH & Co. KG.

Attractive eye-catcher
As a SAVE FOOD supporter of the first hour, MULTIVAC is not just demonstrating its corporate responsibility: “The exhibition is also an informative and attractive eye-catcher for all visitors and especially for our customers,” reported Valeska Haux from MULTIVAC. Anyone with a bit of time between one meeting and another has been showing great interest in the subject of food waste – and also in MULTIVAC’s commitment to the wider community.

Great interest among schools
As there has been such a positive response, MULTIVAC decided to invite all the schools in its catchment area to a free guided tour. Since mid-April school classes and their teachers have been welcome to visit the exhibition every Friday. Interest among schools has been considerable, and MULTIVAC has already received a number of reservations.

The SAVE FOOD exhibition continues to be hosted in Wolfertschwenden until 11 May and is open to visitors on working days. In the future the venue will also be open to other companies, associations and supporters of the initiative.
